925003652s By Air: There are a couple of domestic airports in Uttarakhand: Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, Pantnagar airport and Pithoragarh’s Naini Saini Airport. However, at the best of times, flights to all these airports are highly erratic, so it may be best to check if flights are operational By Road: All of Uttarakhand is connected by road to the rest of north India- but the state of a road is suspect-able. Hill roads tend to be neglected, and potholes, poor surfaces and landslides are common, especially in the more remote areas. Majorly, roads are the only means of getting around, so you’d better reconcile yourself to that fact. Major towns- including all the district headquarters- have bus connections to other towns and villages in the state, and to neighboring states as well. By Rail: The railway network of Uttarakhand is fairly meager. Important junctions include Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital, Kotdwar, Kathgodam, Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar- nearly all of them lying in the southern and south-western districts of the state. Delhi, Lucknow and Varanasi are frequently connected.
Only photo identity proofs issued by the government of India (Passport, Driving License, Voter Id, PAN card etc.) are needed to visit these beautiful sites. However, if you are a foreign tourist, you will still need to get permits for visiting these areas.

Named after John Arnold Abbott; Abbott mount is a quiet hill located 15 km away from the main city and serves as one of the most peaceful places to stay in Uttarakhand, with the view of the snow capped Himalayan peaks.
    • 2. Lohaghat:
P Barron on his visit to Lohaghat said “why go to Kashmir, if there is heaven it is so in Lohaghat”. A little hill station away from the hustle and bustle of the city; Lohaghat is famous for its Deodaar and pine trees as well as Rhododendron.
    • 3. Naukuchiatal:
The lake with 9 corners, Naukuchiatal popularly known as ‘Nauki’ is just a few kilometers away from the crowded Nainital! With cottages and resorts hidden in the hill tracts, Naukuchiatal is a favorable getaway.

One of the least explored regions in Uttarakhand, ‘Kasauni’ is often wrongly interpreted as ‘Kasauli’. This little town sits on top of the mountain with the beautiful landscape of Himalayan peaks and tall pine trees. A must visit destination.
    • 5. Kasauli:
A popular hill station, Kasauli is a cantonment town made in the early British era with a persistent British feel to it. What’s best about Kasauli is to enjoy a relaxing vacation and exploring the little hill station.
    • 6. Landour:
